Quite often in a long running game of nomic, you'll get a ruleset with increasing complexity as the game progresses. This makes the difficulty in playing the game increase as the time goes on. One solution to cap the number of rules which are always in effect, some nomics have rules that last only for a specific round. At the end of the round only the more permanent rules last. This solution is opposed to having people regularly remove rules from the ruleset via voting.
